Ghosted? Here’s How to Handle It Without Losing Your Mind

Ever feel like your inbox is full of ghosts these days? You’re not alone. Whether it’s the upcoming holidays, or the economy, it seems like more people are vanishing into thin air after that initial conversation. 🤔
The truth? Ghosting happens to all of us. But it doesn’t have to ruin your mindset or your momentum.
Here’s how to shift your perspective and stay in control:
1. Data Over Drama
The best coaches always say, “Data over drama.” Unless you’re tracking actual numbers, your brain might just be pulling a fast one on yourself. Are you really getting ghosted more than usual? Or are you just noticing it more because it feels personal?
So, start tracking your stats. Real data brings clarity and cuts through the noise in your head.
2. Universal Truths About Human Behavior
Here’s a reality check:
👉 Everyone acts in their own best interests.
👉 You have no idea what others consider to be in their best interest.
Translation? You can’t control what other people do. You can only control how you react.
3. Lead Ghosting: Why It Happens
Ghosting happens in every business. But here’s how to handle it:
a) Stay Consistent, Not Needy
People come in hot for a few days and then vanish. Some are genuinely ghosting you because they’re battling their own doubts or fears. Others are simply busy.
What’s your job? Be consistent in your outreach but never needy. Keep showing up in their world without the “just following up” desperation.
b) Double Down on Content
Consistency builds trust. That “KLT” factor—know, love, and trust—takes time. Think of it like Napoleon Hill’s Outwitting the Devil. Ghosting isn’t a sign to slow down. It’s a sign to lean in.
Want proof? One of my clients from 2012 just came back this year because of our ongoing content. Twelve years later, they returned because we never stopped showing up.
c) Most Ghosts Aren’t Personal
Life happens. Your prospects might be:
🥵 Overwhelmed
🏖️ On vacation
🔥 Dealing with work fires
🤒 Sick
🤷♀️ Or some mix of these
4. The Long Game of Trust
Some of my top clients, who’ve invested over $100K in coaching, didn’t sign up right away. It took nine months of consistent content and relationship-building before they were ready.
Life was happening to them. One had major payment processing issues, and the other was navigating the leap from a W2 job to becoming a real estate investor.
Nine months of ghosting. And then they became loyal, long-term clients.
5. Ghosting Isn’t Rejection—It’s an Opportunity
When you get ghosted, don’t hit the panic button. Don’t send needy messages.
Instead, focus on being a welcome guest in their inbox or feed. More value-driven content. Less “Just checking in.”
Why? Because when the time is right, they’ll remember the person who kept showing up, offering value, and staying cool under pressure.

Getting ghosted is just part of the game. What separates the pros from the amateurs is how you handle it. So, if you’re feeling the ghosting blues, remember:
Track your data. 📊
Keep your content game strong. 💪
Play the long game. ⌛
Because one day, those ghosts might just come back as your best clients.
